A very late bloomer in his musical endeavors, Jackson started singing in the Jan Möhr Secondary School choir in 2005 as a tenor. Slowly he developed to a 2 nd bass when his voice decided that he was ready to become a man. When he started his tertiary education, he joined the UNAM choir in 2009 under the auspice of Mr Bonnie Pereko. With this choir he was fortunate enough to travel across Namibia, as well as South Africa (Cape Town and Johannesburg) as a leading 2 nd bass during his 6-year tenure in the UNAM choir.
In 2013 he joined the Voices of Namibia under the mentorship of Rayno Burger. In 2015 Jackson joined the Maranatha Singers and was part of the 10-year anniversary concert where they performed the Missa Solemnis in C minor composed by Mozart. During November 2015 he was head-hunted by Collective to join the dynamic team of singers. Jackson deems himself lucky to be part of Collective, who was summoned by His Excellency Dr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, in December 2015 to accompany his Christmas message.
“With Jeremiah 29:11 as the scripture I live by, I believe that Collective can only achieve greater heights, as the group is formed on a strong Christian foundation. I feel blessed to be a part of Collective and together we are ready to take the world by storm” – Jackson Martin
