Melvin Pearson April

Melvin, an avid singer, started his musical career in the church choir at the tender age of 7. He joined the renowned Coastal Youth Choir (now Mascato Youth Choir) under the leadership of Mrs Ena Venter from 1998 – 2009. With Mascato Youth Choir he travelled to Germany, France, Spain and Portugal numerous times. Annual tours to South Africa to participate in music festivals and competitions were always a highlight.

Melvin then joined the Nedbank Singers under the leadership of the late maestro Mr Ernst Van Biljon and shortly after that in 2010 continued to the Voices of Namibia under the same leadership. Voices of Namibia took part in the World Choir games in Shaoxing,China and in 2012 they also took part in Cincinnati, USA under the leadership of Mr Rayno Burger.
